Youth Ministry
“Growing closer to God and one another as we grow ourselves.”
The mission of Mary Queen of Peace Youth Ministry
is to sustain a Christ-centered community in the parish that seeks to
foster personal holiness in the lives of MQP teens, parents, and core members
through faith, fellowship, and a special devotion to our Blessed Mother
All high schoolers are welcome to join us for Life Night from 6-8 pm in Room 305 at the parish school following the 5 pm Sunday Mass.
Are you looking for ways to serve the parish community? Do you enjoy being around teens filled with excitement? We need your help! Mary Queen of Peace Youth Ministry is in need of volunteers to assist in regular programming. This includes Sunday Life Night, Wednesday Summit, and other events such as retreats. If you are interested, please contact Chris Grote, Director of Youth Ministry, at youthministry@mqpwg.org

Mary Queen of Peace will be hosting Luke 18 Retreat for 8th graders in October 2020!
Luke 18 is a weekend long retreat inviting 8th graders to grow deeper in their faith —to help them see that they are not only the future of our Church, but they are also the Church right now. Through high-energy games, skits, songs, personal sharing, and a series of talks given by high school students, the “Lukers” as we call them are encouraged to have fun and grow in their faith. The weekend offers the opportunity to experience God’s Love on a more personal level, and the Lukers are challenged to share that love with those around them.
Luke 18 is special because it is youth
ministering to youth. High school students (referred to as “Disciples”) give talks about things that are important to your child right now and help them find ways to welcome God into their everyday lives. The retreat is organized and coordinated by the Youth Ministry Team at Mary Queen of Peace, but the success of the retreat will come from the help of the High School Teens, our music minister, adult volunteers, and the Lukers coming with an open mind and heart.
The retreat will take place October 16-18, 2020. We will start Friday evening, and end Sunday with 5pm Mass. The theme for the retreat is New Fire. There will be no sleep houses this year. You will need to drop off and pick up your teen at Mary Queen of Peace each day of the retreat weekend.
The cost of the retreat is $120.00. This will cover the cost of meals, supplies, T-shirts, etc. If the cost is a problem, please contact Chris Grote, Director of Youth Ministry.
Sign up for registration here. Registration closes October 2.
For MQP Teens:
The MQP Youth Group is made up of teenagers interested in coming together to grow in their relationship with Christ and each other. All teens are encouraged and invited to actively participate in many of the ministerial roles. Opportunities exist for teens to utilize their gifts and talents with the entire parish community by lectoring, serving, being a Eucharistic Minister, or serving as a greeter.
PROJECT LIFE - June 2019
Project Life gathers teens from various backgrounds to be transformed
by the Gospel call to love one another through service to those in need.
Throughout the course of the week, teens (aka "Feet Washers") come
to know and recognize Jesus Christ in themselves and in the people
they serve. Through spiritual programming, great music, hard work,
and good times, Project Life has become an awesome event that
allows Christ to speak and work through them in ways they would never
have imagined!
