Blessing of Pets

Tuesday, October 4, is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of animals. All our parishioners are invited to a special Blessing of Pets on St. Francis Day, October 4, at 6:00 PM on the lawn in front of Church.  Come with your dog, cat, hamster, ferret, snake, or any other animal that may be your pet! In case of inclement weather, we’ll cancel the event through the parish website and Facebook.

25th Annual Magazine Drive

The annual Mary Queen of Peace Magazine Drive is in full swing!  It’s the 25th year for this annual fundraiser which is being used to purchase a badly-needed new server and other technology upgrades.  It’s a great time to get some Christmas shopping done in advance - give the gift of reading and help support our school!  Order from any full time or PSR student, or call the number below. This school year brings a new resident to our Rectory. Please offer a warm welcome to Philip Rathinam, who is residing and ministering at MQP this school year. Philip is a third year seminarian from Kenrick Seminary studying for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. He is here this year on a Pastoral Internship to experience parish life and parish ministry in preparation for Ordination to the Diaconate and Priesthood. He will be present at parish meetings and functions, assist in our school and PSR and Youth Ministry, and of course will be present on Sundays as we celebrate the Eucharist. The Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run is a national program that provides funding for local Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conferences and Councils. Funds raised from these events remain local, allowing local SVdP Conferences/Councils to provide emergency assistance to those in need, regardless of race, origin, religion, or gender.
