Give a Meal a Month (GAMAM) is Dec. 22/23. Please consider donating the following items:   Canned beans (no black beans) Canned Soups, Stews and Chili with meat  Toilet paper  Aldi Gift cards(to be used by the food pantry to purchase various meat and perishable items that will be handed out to families).   Please drop items off in the Msgr. Lubeley room by 11 am Sunday, Dec. 23. They will be sorted and delivered to the St. Wenceslaus parish food pantry in St. Louis City.

Tuesday, January 1, 2019 is the Feast of Mary, Mother of God, a holy day of obligation.  The feast day celebrates the motherhood of Mary. Masses on New Year’s Day will be at 8:00 am and 10:30 am.  There will be no vigil Mass.

Holy Day of Obligation

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Dec. 8, is a Holy Day of Obligation. The Feast Day celebrates that Mary was conceived without sin. Mass times are 5 p.m. Friday (Vigil) and Saturday at 8 a.m.  These Masses do not fulfill your Sunday obligation. Give an extra hour of your weekend to celebrate our Blessed Mother and patroness of our parish, Mary Queen of Peace!

Based on Luke 18: 15-17 where Jesus calls the children to Himself, this is a retreat for 8th graders in preparation for Confirmation. The retreat is led by high school students who pray, give talks, lead small groups, and share how their faith defines their life. This retreat provides 8th graders practical ways to live out their faith entering high school. This year the retreat is February 16-18, 2018. Click here to apply.

If you are 50 years old or older, and want to engage with parishioners in a new way, join us at at 6:00pm on Monday, December 10th in the Msgr. Lubeley Room for a Christmas Party. Hospitality Sunday - Dec. 9

Join us for coffee, donuts and friendship after each morning Mass Sunday, Dec. 9, in the school cafeteria. After the 11 am Mass, join us for special treats and activities honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe!  You can also purchase Bridge Bread.  We will have several kinds of artisan breads, cinnamon rolls and brownies. Each purchase or donation helps those less fortunate than us to continue working hard to end the cycle of homelessness. SCRIP cards are also available for purchase. It's a great way to give back to Mary, Queen of Peace parish without spending an extra dime!

Giving Tree is Up!

The tree is in the church, on the right side as you face the altar.  Please consider taking an ornament or two, purchasing the gifts written on the ornament, and returning them unwrapped back under the tree.The gifts are then given to five organizations to then give to those in need: Karen House, Join Hands, Birthright, St. Patrick Center and South Side Community Center. Deadline is noon December 11.
