OUR PARISH EVENTS

Women's League Breakfast with Santa

Many children and parents spent a wonderful morning with Santa and Mrs. Claus on December 8th.

They enjoyed a hot breakfast, a special performance of Christmas carols sung by our own children's choir, Gingerbread house making, story time with Mrs. Claus, a candy cane walk, a coloring station, and a traditional photo with Santa!

Advent by Candlelight 2012

Over 90 parish women attended an evening of celebration, sharing, and preparing during the season of Advent at our first Women's League Advent by Candlelight on Sunday, December 9.  Fr. Mitch Doyen presented a beautiful reflection on Mary.  Food, friends, fellowship and music were enjoyed by all.

Lenten Project 2012

Isn't it exciting to know that we at Mary Queen of Peace have built a dental clinic for the poor in St. Jean de Sud parish in rural Haiti?  Dr. Steve Fleischut, his wife Tammy, and fellow parishioner Heather O'Keefe visited the new clinic during a February mission trip.  Read more about the project and view photos taken at the Dedication Ceremony during the trip. The new dental clinic donated by Mary Queen of Peace, is a concrete example that a better world is possible. Thanks to all who donated and to the community of MQP for the compassionate display of generosity.

Confirmation 2011

On November 9, 2011 Bishop Edward Rice confirmed 80 eighth grade students from our Day School and the Parish School of Religion.  It was wonderful to behold their openness to the Holy Spirit as they received the third and last of the Sacraments of Initiation.  Now they are fully initiated into God's life in the Spirit, into God's family, into Christ's Church, and into the saving power Jesus' death and resurrection.

90th Anniversary & Bratfest

We celebrated 90 years of community and worship with a special Mass and our annual Bratfest on Sunday, September 25, 2011. The church looked beautiful and the Festival Choir sounded amazing!  And, a few of our former parish priests enjoyed returning to MQP.  Be sure to read The Early Years: 1922-1956 compiled by parishioner Susan Grigsby for some interesting history of the first 90 years.
