Weekly Principal's Letter

 Weekly Word
2012-04-25

Dear Families:

We have modified the Mass schedule for May such that May 8-10 will not be level masses. Instead we will have an 8:45 All School Mass on Wednesday, May 9 with a May Crowing of the Blessed Mother. Remember that the 8th Grade Musical, The Music Man, is on Thursday and Friday evenings, 10 and 11 May, at 7:00 p.m. We will have performances for students during the day on Thursday. We again extend an invitation to the senior members of the parish to attend the 9:00 a.m. performance on Thursday. Parking is available behind school. Note that this week we’ve added more teachers’ offerings for tutoring and summer programs at the end of this messag.

Staffing 2012-2013
Neither I, nor my proofreaders, noticed that I neglected to include Mrs. Laws teaching Music K-4. Sorry for the omission.

Alive In Christ Scholarships
We’ve been notified that all scholarships have been awarded for current Catholic school families.

National Take Back Initiative
The Webster Groves Police Department is sponsoring an opportunity to rid your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications. They may be dropped at the Webster Groves Recreation Center (33 East Glendale Ave) this Saturday, 28 April, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The collected medications will be destroyed. Needles and other sharps will NOT be accepted.

Summer Opportunities (including private offerings by MQP Faculty members)

1. Have your child explore the world of reading and math this summer! This opportunity will allow your child to review and learn the skills for their next academic year through FUN and engaging activities! In reading, children will read a fantasy book and be lead through discussion groups and activities that focus on particular comprehension skills and strategies. In math, students will learn how the skills they learn in the classroom can be applied to their everyday life. Sports, cooking, and the Olympics are just a few of the topics that will be discussed. Children entering grades 2,3, and 4 are welcome to join us on Wednesdays for reading, math, or both!
For more detailed information please contact Karen Dyn or Ellen Rusniak via Fast Direct.
