Dear Families:
Today’s readings focused on not worshiping false gods. Fr. Bob suggested that we might not find ourselves worshiping Baal or other alien gods, but how often do we fail to worship on Sunday because of a sporting event or picnic? I recently read Neil Gaiman’s American Gods (not recommended for young people). The premise of the novel is that the new gods of America are television, the internet, credit, houses, etc. These are the very things we often seem to put before the God who made us. For this last week of Lent and during Holy Week, I humbly suggest that we all reflect on to what or whom do we offer one of the greatest gifts we have to offer—our time. How we spend our time speaks more powerfully to our children than any words we speak!

The process was taken seriously by all and the results show the care taken. Please see letter in FastDirect for names of the awardees.
