Board of Education

The Mary Queen of Peace Parish Board of Education serves as an advisory committee to the Pastor, Principal, and Director of Religious Education on matters of policy.

The focus of policy issues are education programs that include but are not limited to: pre-school, school, adult curriculum, personnel, plant facilities, transportation, extra-curricular activities, finance, discipline, and inter-parish programs.

The Board of Education provides assistance in evaluation and recommendation for improvements and/or policy revisions. The Board is governed by the policies of the Archdiocesan School Board, and may interpret and apply those policies as appropriate for Mary Queen of Peace Parish.

The Board of Education is comprised of twelve members. Board members serve a three- year term. Annually, four new board members will be added to the board. Nominations take place each Spring and the Pastor will draw members from the willing candidates. Membership includes parishioners who are parents of children enrolled in the full-time school or PSR, as well as parishioners with no children enrolled in the school. All board members elected or appointed must be registered parishioners of the Parish and be in good standing with the teachings of the Catholic Church as determined by the pastor.

The Board meets monthly during the school year. Meetings are open to parishioners who may address the Board according to the procedures established in the Board of Education constitution.
