Many of you have probably already heard from your children that, as of today, both of our computer labs now sport new iMacs. The larger screen format with a screensaver of the Milky Way truly gives the impression that one is on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise!

In the course of the last couple of months Home & School has graciously funded and a small technology committee has researched our best options for replacement computers and all of that generosity and hard work has come to fruition.
In addition to the new lab computers, many teachers have upgrades from very old desktops to laptops, which will allow them to use applications and access web sites (such as video streaming) that the older machines simply would not run. The laptops also allow teachers to take their computers home to prepare lessons--particularly important for those teachers who heavily use their SMART Boards.
Finally, the units that have been replaced that still have life in them have been deployed to classrooms as mini-labs that will allow students to do research, write papers, etc. without leaving the classroom. Those that are beyond use will be recycled so that we remain good stewards of the earth.
We are pleased with the results of this hard work and look forward to the opportunities for deeper learning that this gift will provide!
Thanks again.
