Youth Ministry

“Growing closer to God and one another as we grow ourselves.”

The mission of Mary Queen of Peace Youth Ministry

is to sustain a Christ-centered community in the parish that seeks to

foster personal holiness in the lives of MQP teens, parents, and core members

through faith, fellowship, and a special devotion to our Blessed Mother

Our High School Youth Group is open to all high school students. Join us every month on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. Life Nights follow the 5pm Mass from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Lubeley Room.  Our goal is to create a safe place for teens to share and discuss faith issues while strengthening our high school community. We offer the following retreat experiences each year:

  • Luke 18 – Based on Luke 18: 15-17 where Jesus calls the children to Himself, this is a retreat for 8th graders in preparation for Confirmation. The retreat is led by high school students who pray, give talks, lead small groups, and share how their faith defines their life. This retreat provides 8th graders practical ways to live out their faith entering high school. This year the retreat is February 16-18, 2018.
  • Steubenville Catholic Youth Conference – Held each summer on the campus of Missouri State University, this dynamic weekend brings together thousands of young people in a celebration of our faith. Sponsored by Franciscan University and the St. Louis Archdiocesan Office of Youth Ministry, the Steubenville conference allows teenagers to listen to excellent speakers, attend breakout sessions to learn more about the faith, and experience Jesus in the Eucharist in adoration and Mass.

Stay tuned for more retreat experiences such as the March for Life, Guys/Girls retreats, Service retreats, and more!

Coming soon!! Renovations have begun on room 305 in the school! Room 305 will be the future home of the youth ministry lounge. Be on the lookout for updates and ways you can help create a comfortable and welcoming environment.

For MQP Teens:

The MQP Youth Group is made up of teenagers interested in coming together to grow in their relationship with Christ and each other. All teens are encouraged and invited to actively participate in many of the ministerial roles. Opportunities exist for teens to utilize their gifts and talents with the entire parish community by lectoring, serving, being a Eucharistic Minister, or serving as a greeter.

Following on social media to find the latest and greatest from the youth ministry world! The Youth Ministry corner in the bulletin will also contain youth ministry updates.
