Hello From the New Pastor!

Dear Mary Queen of Peace Parish Family,

My name is Fr. John Vien and I look forward to meeting you, getting to know you, and growing in faith with you in the months and years to come. I’m very happy to be here at Mary, Queen of Peace!

I am a St. Louisan through and through; my great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather was one of the thirty pioneers who founded the City of St. Louis with Pierre Laclede Liguest and Auguste Chouteau, so St. Louis is in my blood. I’ve traveled all over the world, but St. Louis is my very favorite place! I grew up in St. Monica Parish in Creve Coeur, where I was baptized and went to school and celebrated my First Mass.

May the Lord bless you, and our patron, Mary Queen of Peace, pray for you!

“I AM M.Q.P. !” Prayer
Dear Lord,
Mary Queen of Peace Parish is composed of people like me.
I help make M.Q.P. what it is, and what it can be.
It will be friendly, if I am.
It will be holy, if I am.
It will be prayerful, if I pray.
It will do great work, if I work.
Its pews will be filled, if I come and help fill them.
It will reach out to others to worship, if I invite and bring them.
It will do generous ministry, if I am a generous giver.
It will be a parish of loyalty and love,
if I am loyal to it and love all its members.
It will be a parish of compassion, charity, and mercy,
if I am filled with these virtues.
It will be a parish “Closer to God and Closer to One Another”,
if I am.
Therefore, with the help of God, I now dedicate myself to the task
of being all the things I want my parish to be!
For “I AM M.Q.P. !”

Our Mission...

We, the people of Mary Queen of Peace Church, are called by God to live in a community as disciples. Through the sacraments, God nourishes and empowers us to follow the example of our namesake, Mary Queen of Peace. With the help of God's love and grace, our mission is to build up the kingdom of God on earth, bringing our community closer to the Lord and closer to one another as we worship together, educate and serve.
